<p class="tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta" dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" data-placeholder="Übersetzung" aria-label="Übersetzter Text" data-ved="2ahUKEwiey8uAwYqFAxXwgf0HHRjKDhMQ3ewLegQIARAT">The design impresses with its simplicity and high spatial quality. With a simple slat profile, an atmospherically dense interior is created, which is constructed entirely in wood. Later degradability and thus a closed material cycle contribute to the sensible use of the resources used.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 16px;">The project, which exemplifies the possibilities and potentials of timber construction, was created in an interdisciplinary project in timber  design and construction in cooperation with the <a href="https://www.mpip-mainz.mpg.de/en/landfester">Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research</a> (Department Physical Chemistry of Polymers, Prof. Katharina Landfester), </span><span style="font-size: 16px;">in which students of architecture and civil engineering took part under the supervision of <a href="https://www.hs-mainz.de/en/directory/gero-quasten/">Prof. Gero Quasten</a> (Department of Architecture, Chair of Design and Energy-Optimized Construction) and <a href="https://www.hs-mainz.de/en/directory/kay-uwe-schober/">Prof. Kay-Uwe Schober</a> (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chair of Timber Engineering and Building Construction). </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 16px;">The task was to design a station for the Polymer Path, which imparts knowledge about the history, use and properties of polymers and also includes artistic objects. </span><span style="font-size: 16px;">The project was funded by the Mainz University of Applied Sciences, the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research and the Mainz Science Alliance and can be visited on the Polymer Path parallel to Koblenzer Straße in Mainz.</span></p>
